It’s perfectly simple to get to Minjerribah Island Accommodation Straddie from the airport , Brisbane or Gold Coast by car or public transport (train, bus and ferry). Once you’re on the island, you can walk from the ferry or water taxi to reach us or take the car, bus or taxi to get around the island. Bike riding is also popular.
We are located walking distance from both Water Taxis from the Cleveland on the mainland. If you bring your car (via Stradbroke Ferries) parking is free. You can walk to local cafes and restaurants, sporting clubs, and the iconic Little Ship Club.
Stradbroke Island is one of Queensland's first colonial settlements, a little over 200 years ago. Minjerribah's rich Aboriginal culture has been here for at least 20,000 years, and a number of interactive educational recreational experiences can be organized including hunting skills, culture, art and craft, and bush, freshwater lake and ocean or bay shoreline environment.
Minjerribah Island Accommodation Straddie comfortably sleeps up to 140 people, perfect for school camps and other large groups. We are conveniently located close to a range of educational and entertainment activities for students of all ages. We also have a registered nurse on site, in case of any mishaps.
Located just across the park form the Home Beach swimming enclosure and a short walk from the jetty for night time fishing. The park has football field, tennis and basketball courts. School camp students will love spoting dolphins, sea turtles, dugongs and whales. The pristine ocean water allows corals, oysters etc to grow along the Rainbow channel.
